Did that really happen?
It’s been a week, hasn’t it?
We started the week still in a country that waa, at least nominally, in the free world, and end with it turning into a Russian affiliate, thanks to FOTUS, the Russian undercover agent for 40 years that we just found out about.
Besides that, our supposed president and VP embarrassing the country by harassing the president of Ukraine during an official on-camera meeting, and telling him to leave the White House. That is NOT the way to conduct a treaty over rare earth metals, dudes. As a result of that debacle, American ships can no longer refuel in several countries, Canada is ready to stop electrical power from coming south, Britain has sent more aid to Ukraine, and alliances are being made against us in Europe. Canada is also readying economic countermeasures against the US, not to mention pulling all American products off the shelves across the country. This is, apparently, the first time all Canadian provinces have united since World War II, I’m told.
Part of me is thinking of what my father and his four brothers who fought in World War II would say to this (beyond the copious swearing.) Part of me is crying inside at the thought that hostilities with Canada, if they continue, might keep me from ever seeing my Canadian cousins again. And the topper on all this that has kept me from actually reading more and commenting is that I have had a small recurrence of the COVID Omicron from January, and can’t really concentrate. The recurrence brought back low fever, everything tasting weird, and the need to sleep 12-14 hours a day, interspersed with some insomnia; I’ve ended up swapping sleeping and awake time too much to concentrate.
At this point the fever is gone, and food is starting to taste like food again instead of some inept child’s science project. I’m able to be awake long enough to do something useful.
Given that, I hope to have a better column for you at the end of the week. Thanks for reading.

Feel better soon!
